Why sponsor the Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia? |
Stonewall was established in 1995 as a voluntary coalition of attorneys, judges, law students, paralegals, and other legal professionals. Our mission is to use our professional expertise to support the rights of LGBTQ+ people and oppose discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. We publish an online directory of attorneys willing to serve and respond to the needs of LGBTQ+ clients and distribute a quarterly newsletter to hundreds of legal professionals. Your support allows us to offer important programming for both lawyers and laypersons, including: a law student mentoring program, scholarships for law students to attend the Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair sponsored by the National LGBT Bar Association, CLEs, and social and networking events for attorneys, law students, and other legal professionals. In 2020, Stonewall's Board of Directors established the Stonewall Racial Justice Grant Program to award funds to organizations whose work amplifies Stonewall's commitment to the LGBTQ community during this time of reckoning with racial justice. The 2021-2022 grant was given to an organization serving transgender and gender non-conforming people of color. This program is having a profound effect on underserved populations in our community by providing actionable, relevant assistance during this pivotal time. One-half of all sponsor contributions made at the Racial Justice level go directly to the grant, and a portion of all other sponsor contributions also go to the grant. If you would like to support this important work, contact Stonewall's Treasurer Melissa Fox. With your help, we can continue our commitment to quality programming, education, and engaged action. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss your current or future sponsorship, please reach out to Melissa Fox. | Sponsorship Levels for 2021-2022 Racial Justice Grant Sponsor $10,000
